Blogs?

So this is my first time ever blogging.

From what I know about Blogs it is a place to write about what you are doing that is not of interest to most of the reading world. I have NEVER been interested in them so I struggle with the fact that I need to make them useful/interesting for my students.

Any helpful hints to make this fun, enjoyable, interesting???

Thanks in advance.

  3. Hey buddy. I, similarly to you, haven't had much experience with blogs. I think before we find good ways to use them in the classroom, we need to familiarize ourselves completely with their powers. We need to step back and be the learners before we can be the teachers.

Wow, can you tell I actually read for once!!

  4. I agree that you need to take a step back and think about what you are using before implmenting it into the classroom. I for oe have used blogs before, but not for educational topics.

I have used blogs in the past when I taught 5th grade and during my student teaching in PA. I used it for reading where the students read a novel and then went online and posted about thier book. They had to discuss what the book was about(quick summary), and also give feedback on what they though of the book. I later found out I wasn't allowed to do this, but since it was my first 2 years teaching I played dumb and was just told not to do it.
